Tourism Work Ready Program Agency
Partner with Tourism Saskatchewan
Partner agencies play an important role in helping participants access training, complete credentials, and prepare for employment. Agencies may build Tourism Work Ready into existing programming or deliver it as a stand-alone training opportunity. A cohort model is recommended because participants often experience stronger completion and credentialing outcomes when they learn together and follow a set training schedule.
Program Benefits
- Eligible clients develop workplace skills, identify their strengths and interests, and gain a clearer understanding of training and employment opportunities in tourism and hospitality.
- Funding for eligible participants is supported by the Ministry of Immigration and Career Training.
- Training facilitators may be available for cohort delivery when minimum participant numbers are met.
- Tourism Saskatchewan supports partner agencies with program awareness, program requirements, participant selection templates, exam proctoring instructions, and reporting tools.
- Additional financial support may be available to help participants complete training and connect to the workforce. This may include support for childcare, transportation, additional training, tutoring, work-related gear, and other approved needs.
Desired Outcomes
- Participants complete training and successfully pass the required exams.
- At least 70% of participants are employed after completing the program.
- Some participants may choose to pursue further education or training.
- Participants continue working toward their individualized employment action plan, including attending a Tourism Work Ready Connection Event where available.
Partner Agency Commitment
- Recruit and select well-suited candidates who meet program requirements.
- Provide access to a training space and computers for training and exams, where needed.
- Support participants who may complete training independently from home, while maintaining regular check-ins to monitor progress and success.
- Monitor participant progress throughout the program.
- Provide wraparound support to help participants succeed in training and employment.
- Complete basic monthly reporting requirements.
Program Requirements
Participants must meet the following requirements:
- Be unemployed and seeking employment in the tourism and hospitality industry.
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Have the English reading comprehension needed to complete online training and exams.
- Be at least 16 years of age.
- Be ready, able, and willing to attend training and write exams.
- Follow through on an employment action plan.
- Register with ICT Career Services to obtain a valid ICT Client ID Number and consent.
