 Tourism Work Ready Program

Build a pathway to employment in Saskatchewan's tourism industry with Tourism Work Ready. This partnership program provides workplace readiness training, occupation-specific certifications and connects training graduates to employers, helping job seekers prepare for success in frontline tourism and hospitality roles.

Tourism Work Ready Program

Tourism Work Ready helps unemployed job seekers build the skills, confidence, and credentials needed to pursue employment in Saskatchewan’s tourism and hospitality industry. Delivered in partnership with the Ministry of Immigration and Career Training and community-based agencies, the program combines workplace readiness training, occupation-specific learning, exam preparation, and employment support.

Participants begin with Workplace Essentials, a 19-module course focused on Canadian workplace culture, communication, professionalism, customer service, and other foundational skills. They then complete one occupation-specific course in Front Desk Agent, Housekeeping Room Attendant, Line Cook, or Food and Beverage Service.

After completing the required training, participants write an all-skills exam and an occupation-specific micro-exam. Successful participants receive Emerit Work Ready credentials, which can be added to their resume to support their job search.

The goal of Tourism Work Ready is to grow interest in tourism and hospitality careers, support untapped talent in Saskatchewan communities, and help employers connect with trained candidates for frontline roles.
